I encountered Hikosen Cara year 2010, while window shopping in Takashimaya. I love the cat designs. So cute! It\’s very soft, plush and smooth. Very different from the stuffed toys that I\’ve known.
O-hai!
I originally want this bolster-like kitty. By the time I decided to buy one, it was sold out.
The price tag was steep. I made it a point, to look at it every pay day. Come Christmas time, I bought it! I can\’t stand my own resistance. I never regret getting it.
I got the smiling fat kitteh

What I like about the Hikosen Cara line is they have different design for every season. Once you get a toy, you won\’t be seeing the same design again. They also have other products like, aprons, bags, kid\’s shoes, duvet et. al. A nice gift idea to infants, toddlers, preschoolers and children ages 6-8 years old  (Don\’t look at me, I\’m a child at heart ;P).
I would love to buy lots but, it\’s really expensive. Time passed by,  their space in Takashimaya was gone. Even their branch in Bugis Junction. I wasn\’t able to visit their store in HK, so I lost hope and settled with what I have.
During my recent trip to Vietnam, I accidentally discovered them again in Diamond Plaza. Imagine my delight! I could\’ve vomited rainbows. I\’m so happy! All of their novelty items are available in Vietnam.

But I didn\’t get one until I leave for Ho Chi Minh City. I bought my items (a day before I go to Hanoi) in the Vincom Center Branch.

Hikosen Cara Heaven!
They have piggy plushies.
The staff are very accommodating and courteous despite the language barrier. Too bad, I wasn\’t able to get their names. They helped me pack my purchases. They even gave me discounts for hoarding buying a lot. The prices are way cheaper compared to SG. The plushie that I have are sold 75% less and it\’s a regular price.

The store supervisor, offered me a store membership. I respectfully declined since, I\’m  a tourist and I can\’t tell when I\’ll be back. She gave me these cute cellphone/bag accessory instead.

I walked back to the hotel, with a huge smile on my face. I got my sibs and cousin their neck pillows. I couldn\’t get them the plushies because I\’ll be travelling to Hanoi for the next three days. I only have a small luggage and must stick to the baggage requirement.

Till next time!  🙂

Picture, Picture!!!!

Since technology has given birth to digital cameras, our lives were never the same. Mandatory food shots, selfies, model-modelan poses, tongue stuck-out face and duck lips are all over. I\’m won\’t deny that I also did that. If you were my friend during the hey days of multiply, its evident on my pictures there. But I don\’t pose multiple times and post everything at the same time. Imagine if you do this when films are still uso, sayang ang film! I found out I have an angle in photos that looks good on me. The best of all, I can delete pictures that I don\’t want *insert evil laugh*.

I remember I had a crush with this college jock, I followed him on Multiply. He\’s handsome and all but I was turned off because he turns out to be narcissistic and posts a lot of his face in multiple albums. Eye torture! I just unfollowed him. There\’s also this Jessica Soho feature on her show about the picture culture. There was a featured mag-ama where in the father is an OFW and her teenage daughter is back in Manila. This Girlie tends to capture her activities of daily living by taking pictures. Selfies with a comb (toothbrush with toothpaste, spoon and fork or whichever she is doing on that day) . But her dad is happy that he gets to see his daughter through pictures.

But of course who am I to stop all of them?! #walangbasaganngtrip #YOLO according to hash taggers.

Actually the problem is: oversharing. Social media had given all of us the freedom to share whatever we want. I have to digress though, because this is a free world. What do I do? Specially if the temptation to say something is staring right in my face. Do the art of DEADMA and click unsubscribe. Yep! If you don\’t want to unfriend but you hate to see their faces in your newsfeed, UNSUBCRIBE. I have no problem with instagram because I choose who I follow.

Apparently, I\’m not the only one who noticed. I read one article in Thought Catalog about the hand-on-your-hip picture. For the record, putting your hands on the hip can help reduce the look of you arm in pictures.
This is what the Word of The Lourd has to say. We share sentiments but Lourd deVeyra\’s view has related it to social implications.

Even a song by Tanya Markova subtlety describes love and pictures.

Just sayin\’ it turns out that some of us just noticed.

Jollibee in SG

One of the staple pasalubong or request from friends visiting or coming back from their annual leave (from PHL to SG) is the Jollibee Chicken Joy. It\’s truly nakakamiss because it\’s like no other. The taste is authentically Pinoy. Juicy meat, crispy skin, delectable gravy makes my stomach grumble with hunger.
When I was a kid, Jollibee is our happy place. It\’s just so fun to be there because aside from eating we get to play in their indoor playground. Mom even signed me up to the Jolly Kiddie Club and I get to receive newsletter every two months, if I\’m not mistaken.
Imagine our delight when we found out that Jollibee has opened. Yehey! It\’s about time! USA, Vietnam, Hongkong et.al. has been enjoying it for so long (even Anthony Bourdain has a say about it). Now it\’s Singapore\’s turn.
I heard that the first day it opened, the queue was CRAZY! I heard they don\’t close until 2 AM in the morning just to accommodate people who waited. What surprised me the most are the locals especially my colleagues at work would ask me about it. That made them curious. Good thing, Jolibee is Halal-certified so our  Malay brothers and sisters can enjoy it as well.
I can say the opening is a success. They are already planning on opening a second branch. As for the naysayers…God bless you.
After all the hype, I was able to try it with my friends. The best part is, LIBRE ni Ate Jenet. Thank you 🙂
