Nostalgic Tuesday:Legendary Seniors Muse

NKKLK ang ramdomness ni Tin! Just right for today\’s Nostalgic Tuesday.

I remember clearly it was during Aiza\’s birthday (was held in their house). Our adviser Ms. Giba and some of my classmates are discussing their plans for the Annual Foundation Week. Our brains was programmed to win the Cheerdance competition. So that goes with everything sports, quiz bee, art contest etc. I was chosen the muse ( I remember Annie telling me) \”kelangan natin ng poise\” WOW meron pala ako nun. Ang di nila alam nabibili ang Poise sa Balibago per garapon. Joke Lungs! I agreed because wala akong choice tumanggi and it\’s an honor (syempre). Senior year was supposed to be a blast for it\’s our last year in HS.
The Foundation Week festivities has already begun. Actually hindi nga ako ready, kahit yung sasabihin ko walang pre-meditation kung ano na lang ang lumabas sa bibig ko . Hindi ko sinabi kay mom na muse ako. So parang wala akong nadala ng matinong damit. I asked Grace for outfit opinion that\’s why we came up with my red blouse and mini-skirt jeans. I remember the shoes was Kat\’s. Make-up done by Jasmine\’s Tito.
I was very shaky during the introductory thingy. Tejido and Miss Giba. Que Horror!
The worst part is the Q&A portion. Ang nagtanong si Sensei Dennis. And he asked my opinion of the current president\’s management of the country etchos. Hello the most hated type of question EVER! Because I\’m not political! LAME!. Epic Fail! Too bad I wasn\’t able to get Ms. Intramurals 2000 sash and title.
Even if I didn\’t win, the Legendary Seniors won the Cheerdance Competition 3 years in a row! Wooohooo! It deserves to be written in the history book of Dominican College.
I have a lot to be thankful for when I transferred in DC. May maganda at pangit na nangyari. It molded us as unique persons that we are today. Friendships are formed that hopefully would last our lifetime. Memories that could be cherished forever. If it wasn\’t for DC, I won\’t get a taste of the \”action and adventure\” that high school life has to offer. Everyone may not agree with me, but for me it\’s the best that I had.
Thank You!
Cheers!
P.S. Hindi naman ako nanawagan ng reunion…pero pwede na rin.
XOXO

Fine Dining – Short Film

I\’m doing some short film round-up for the past few days. I\’m hooked really. I remember John Red being interviewed in 5 and up about short films, pretty interesting shiz if you ask me. He mentioned something about a film that only lasted for 3 seconds. I find it weird but cool for my 6/7 year old brain.

The film is very heartwarming. I smiled and cried at the same time. I felt the love that this movie wants to transcend.

Filipino filmmaker Lance Katigbak, 18, won the People’s Choice award at the recent Manhattan International Film Festival in New York. His short film, Fine Dining, bested 14 entries from the United States, United Kingdom, India, Belgium, Rwanda, among other countries.

Music Monday: High

This song was overplayed and over-hyped at school. It\’s really a beautiful song. Add to it, the unique voice of the Lighthouse vocalist (uhh sorry I don\’t know his name). The question is, whatever happened to them? They look promising in 1997. We\’ll see the answers from here.

Music Monday: Heaven is a Place on Earth

I just got my \’supply\’ of new mp3 tracks from sissy Cha via dropbox. It\’s a mix of 90\’s, new millennium hits and indie music. Being the 90\’s kid that I am, Belinda Carlisle was overplayed back then. Her song has graced  the OST of some memorable teenage movies of the early and late 90\’s.

We Are The LEGO Kids

One of our toys when we were young is the Lego Fabuland, the theme park set. I remember dad bought it somewhere from one of his trips abroad. Its one of our most memorable pasalubong because we\’re allowed to play with it at hindi pang display lang
Cast of Characters from Fabuland
I remember we are making up stories from the characters, doing other kind of lego structures and basically play with it. As time passed, since some of the pieces are small we lost them one by one. Though our younger brother was still able to use some of it its already incomplete. Those were the times when there\’s no internet, PC, iPod, Facebook or instagram. We have to rely on our imagination. We had fun, seriously. I just wish we had another set of Lego during that time.
A few days ago, as I was browsing deals, one of the deals was a coach and entrance tickets to Legoland in Malaysia. I was like, I know I\’ve heard there are plans but I didn\’t know that the place is finishing and will be opening up on 15th September 2012. I wouldn\’t want to miss this. This time it\’s a larger than life reliving of memories because I\’ll be exploring the whole of Legoland soon. YEHEY!!!
Map of  Legoland
According to my husband, Legoland caters mostly for kids though there are rides for adults to enjoy. But mostly it\’s a kiddy theme park. No problem with me though. I\’m excited… 🙂
XOXO

Music Monday: Robyn

As per usual lurking on my FB wall, I chanced upon a friend\’s post a bout some music that she heard. The I got more curious to see as to who sang the song, Robyn. Robyn?! Like , Robyn-Robyn from the 90\’s ?

So I watched the video. Confirmed!

She had reinvented her style. From the teeny-bopper-pop-ish sound to electro-dance-pop-robotic-disco type. Her dancing evolved from pa-cute na pa-sway-sway lang to freestyle-taebo-interpretative dance. I think the only thing that haven\’t changed is her voice and her hair (it\’s always short and blonde). Though I think she had discovered how to utilize more a hair gel and asked more tips from her hairstylist.

But as a 90\’s kid, in my head she\’ll always be Ms. Show Me Love.

Do You Really Want Me…Check out the baggy pants and the hair braid!!! Watching the clip feels like I\’m watching this on Video Hit Parade.

I think this was included in the Fantastic Females or MTV Most Wanted. If my memory serves me right.

Keep up Robyn. Reinvention is a bitch and I hope to hear more from you.
