  • When I was still in Singapore, I made sure that after we finished our contract with our first flat I will look for a walking-distance lodging for the next few years. The rent was higher but, I don\’t mind at all. It doesn\’t come at par to the stress of commuting and traffic. My family could tell that ever since I moved to Everton Park, I\’m happier. It\’s a different story here in the car country. For now, I\’m still happy with walking and public transport. It may not be perfect but, it works for me. Some people think so too.

  • For me, garapon is still the best drinking glass ever! That\’s my pa-hipster way of drinking on a unique glass when I was younger. I only stopped doing that when I found out that one of it was used to store my sister\’s frog for biology class. Fast forward to today, mason jars are all over Pinterest. It\’s Never Too Late For Resolutions

I decided to lay-out my plans for the year, three months too late (LOL). Well, it\’s never too late for some change and improvement.

My photo-taking skills has not improved. Well for starters, I haven\’t really practiced at all! Though I\’ve read some lessons on the basics but I have difficulty understanding it. I cringe, every time I see it in Facebook. I\’ve decided to delete most of it. I won\’t be posting much on Facebook because it urges me to edit in a hurry. Results were \”blah\” and unimpressive. I\’ll just post photos in the blog and Flickr.
I don\’t plan to become a professional photographer but, as a blogger my photograph has to have \”oomph.\” It needs to stand-out, evoke emotions and  awe.

Travel more…
This year will most probably cater to local travel. Me and my husband has yet to stabilize our finances to afford it. Hopefully, at least one to two locations. I\’m looking forward to travel via the Amtrak.

I love arts and crafts!
I\’m fascinated with it especially when I was younger. My mind might have been brainwashed with \”pressing issues\” before. But now, there\’s no holding back. I am exploring creative opportunities. If the internet was developed earlier, I should have known that there are lots of people who share my passion.
I\’ve been in crocheting hiatus since I became a nurse. I hate the fact that I\’ve neglected it for many years. Despite the time, I\’m still glad that re-orientation with the hook and yarn were like the old times. I\’m now half way through a scarf and finished a plastic container (you heard me right, I used a plastic bag).
I decided to document my art/craft journey by blogging. I will be using Tumblr this time around.

I want to add painting (water-color), lino-cutting, sewing and calligraphy.I\’ll try my best to learn patiently. I\’m excited!
I know I can\’t accomplish everything, all at the same time. I made my list to keep me focused. I might discover something better along the way. At least, I can say to myself that I\’ve tried and lead me to a  certain
direction. A path of self-improvement and reinvention.
XOXO

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

What is a Wallflower?
In social situations, a wallflower is a shy or unpopular individual who doesn\’t socialize or participate in activities at social events. The term comes from the image of a person isolating themselves from areas of social activities at ballroom dances and parties, where the people who did not wish to dance (or had no partner) remained close to the walls of the dance hall. —WIKIPEDIA

I felt like I\’ve watched a somewhat movie version of Catcher in the Rye. It tackles on the never-ending youth issues (e.g. bullying, sexuality, fitting in  etc.).. As movie watcher, I\’m one of the nakakarelate audience being a teenager and high school student. I don\’t know how closely the movie was interpreted from the book. My sister said it must be close because the author of the book is also the director. We\’ll never know because book and movie are two different mediums of literature/art. So I have to check out the book soon.

What I like about the movie is the presence of a role model of the teacher (Paul Rudd), supportive family and good friends. There are some unclear points in the story that I was hoping it was clearly elaborated or hinted in the book. As for the Emma Watson post-Harry Potter project, I could say she did a good job. She has grown up, speaking with no hint of British accent and proved herself that she has can progress her acting. As for \”Percy Jackson\” a good career move for a follow-up movie. Patrick is effective in his gay role.

The OST (Original Soundtrack) am not a big fan of it (that\’s why I can\’t even describe what kind is it) but genuinely fits the feel and mood of the movie. I could relate at some point that they base their \”moments\” into a appropriate song thus the mixed tapes. Cheesy but I love it! I think they have better tastes A list of literature/book that Charlie\’s teacher has passed for him to read. It\’ll serve as my future reference of books to be read by me.

The twist and revelations on the last 1/4 parts of the movie was enthralling. You won\’t want to miss a thing.

Nostalgic Tuesday: Sony Ericsson K750i existed

Once a upon a time, from the not so distant past. There\’s a hand phone called Sony Ericsson K750i. Amid all the fuss with Nokia hand-phones me and my sister preferred this little baby here. It\’s different from everybody else. To make it more special, it\’s a gift from Dad. 🙂

It All Started in Puerto Galera

When I was in nursing school, I attended our org meetings. We get to introduce ourselves and share your dream vacation place. Ate Carla mentioned she wants to go to El Nido, Palawan. She knows that, once she\’s been there, she could go anywhere.
For me, Puerto Galera was my baptism of fire, to every leisure travel that I went to. My first ever independent trip was in Pangasinan + Baguio with my sister (we broke the barriers of what-ifs and maybes). Puerto Galera was the flagship of independence. Wherein, I plan and just go!
This is my first ever trip to a beach where people my age \”ay pinagsawaan na ang lugar.\” As they say, it\’s never too late to try.

I\’m thankful for the advent of cheap airfares, travel bloggers, review sites and alternative transpos. I do most of my research from reviews and recommendations of friends.
BTW if you\’re going to Puerto Galera, White Beach, I recommend this place.

I met the manager at work. Her mom was being treated in the hospital that I worked for. She\’s nice enough to offer the place. I\’ve never stayed there but, my sister recommended it to some of her friends and they liked it. You can check out tripadvisor for reviews.

I\’ve been to a handful of  places now. I\’m making my mark one footprint at a time. Maybe this is why the world is huge. It\’s meant to be explored. I maybe late but, it\’s better late than never…
